India’s Electronics Industry Aims for $500 Billion by 2030 at Source India 2025
Chennai: The 14th edition of Source India Electronics Supply Chain 2025 commenced at the Chennai Trade Centre, marking a significant milestone for India’s rapidly growing electronics industry.
Organized by the Electronics Industries Association of India (ELCINA), the event brings together over 150 exhibitors, industry leaders, and 3000-4000 delegates and visitors to advance India’s Electronics Supply Chain and drive sustained growth in the sector.
The event’s focus is on “Enhancing the Electronics Supply Chain: Catalyzing Value Addition for a Resilient Electronics Sector”, with participation by overseas companies from Taiwan, Singapore, Russia, and Japan.
India’s electronics industry has seen remarkable growth, with its output rising from $37 billion in FY 2015-16 to over $115 billion in FY 2023-24. Exports have surged to approximately $29 billion in FY 2023-24, contributing to the creation of nearly 2 million jobs within the industry.
Tamil Nadu Industry Minister TRB Rajaa emphasized the state’s vision for the electronics sector, aiming to increase Tamil Nadu’s electronics output to $100 billion from the current $12 billion.
Sasikumar Gendham, President of ELCINA, highlighted the importance of Source India as a critical platform for collaboration, innovation, and growth.
The event features over 1,500 B2B meetings, a start-up showcase, and a conference with 35+ speakers. ELCINA has also introduced the MSH-ELCINA Design & Manufacturing Start-Up Challenge to provide a platform for start-ups to engage with key industry stakeholders.
