Chrysalis AI Empowers Schools with Personalized Learning and AI Literacy

Chennai: Chrysalis, a pioneering educational research organisation with over two decades of expertise in pedagogy and classroom innovation, has unveiled Chrysalis AI, a next-generation AI-powered Co-Thinker designed to transform learning experiences for schools, teachers, students, and parents. The launch event, themed “From Corrections to Connections,” underscored the urgent need to move beyond traditional performance tracking and embrace holistic, personalised learning journeys that truly reflect each child’s potential.

Founded in 2001 by Chitra Ravi, Chrysalis has worked with more than 2,000 schools across India and expanded its presence to eight countries, including Singapore and several African nations. With a mission to awaken the human potential in every child, Chrysalis now takes a transformative leap with Chrysalis AI—an intelligent platform that converts classroom data into actionable insights. This empowers educators to personalise instruction, support student growth, and strengthen the home-school connection.

“Assessments are often reduced to report cards, missing the richness of a child’s learning journey,” said Chitra Ravi, Founder & CEO of Chrysalis. “Chrysalis AI goes beyond numbers to uncover misconceptions, thought processes, and emotional growth. It empowers teachers and parents to see each child as a whole learner, capable of growth in cognitive, social, and meta-cognitive dimensions. Our goal is not to replace teachers but to amplify their impact.”

India’s education sector, one of the largest and fastest growing globally, comprises over 1.5 million schools and approximately 260 million students from Class 1 to 12. With nearly 25 million students graduating annually, the system faces challenges of scale and diversity. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), along with various state boards, serves a significant portion of this population, with CBSE-affiliated schools numbering over 28,000 nationwide.

Projected to reach USD 225 billion by 2025, India’s education industry is being driven by digital learning, infrastructure development, and pedagogical reforms. Yet, access, quality, and personalised learning remain critical concerns—particularly in government and affordable private schools serving underprivileged communities.

In response, Chrysalis AI offers a scalable, empathetic, and research-backed solution to bridge learning gaps, improve academic outcomes, and promote inclusive education. Its key features include real-time insights and personalised feedback for students, detailed learning profiles and evidence-based recommendations for teachers, and AI-powered reports with practical guidance for parents.

One of the standout capabilities of Chrysalis AI is its ability to analyse handwritten student work. Going beyond keyword recognition, the platform delivers nuanced diagnostics that trace misconceptions, reveal thought patterns, and identify areas for targeted intervention.

In addition to Chrysalis AI, the organisation also launched AI Samarth, a free AI literacy initiative aimed at democratizing access to AI knowledge. Developed in partnership with the Central Square Foundation (CSF), IIT Madras, and the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI, AI Samarth targets over five million students, parents, and educators from government and affordable private schools.

The curriculum introduces middle and high school learners to the fundamentals of AI, its ethical dimensions, and real-world applications—equipping future generations with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in an AI-driven world.

With Chrysalis AI and AI Samarth, Chrysalis continues to collaborate with governments, schools, and educators to reimagine learning. This launch marks a bold step forward—where technology, pedagogy, and empathy converge to support every learner’s journey.
