CMD, IREDA Stresses Green Skilling for India’s Renewable Future
Mumbai: Pradip Kumar Das, CMD of IREDA, highlighted the urgent need for green skilling centers to prepare India’s workforce for nearly 3 million clean energy jobs by 2030. Speaking at the 7th International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE) in New Delhi, he emphasized that India’s energy transition depends as much on skilled manpower as on technology and capital.
IREDA, now a fully paperless institution, is collaborating with IITs to build a knowledge bank supporting innovation and skilling. With over 27 GW of renewable projects financed, the agency has helped generate 6,00,000 construction jobs and 50,000 long-term roles.
Pradip Kumar Das called for joint efforts from government, industry, academia, and civil society to build a resilient green economy. He reaffirmed IREDA’s commitment to community upliftment through CSR initiatives in health, education, and rural infrastructure.
As part of Seva Pakhwada, IREDA is conducting renewable energy awareness programs in schools across Delhi-NCR, reinforcing its focus on youth engagement.
