Startup Singam Season 2 Launches With ₹100+ Crore Funding Vision to Scale Tamil Nadu Startups

Chennai: Startup Singam, Tamil Nadu’s startup-focused reality and funding platform, has announced the launch of Startup Singam – Season 2, aiming to facilitate over ₹100 crore in funding for emerging and growth-stage startups from the state.

Building on the success of its inaugural season, Season 2 seeks to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s startup deal pipeline by combining capital access, structured mentorship, investor engagement, and mainstream visibility. The new season will feature 75+ startups across 26 episodes over six months, making it one of the region’s largest founder-led startup discovery initiatives.

The show will be telecast on Star Vijay and streamed on JioHotstar, taking startup stories from Tamil Nadu to a national audience.

Focus on Structured Fundraising Outcomes

Unlike conventional pitch formats, Startup Singam – Season 2 is designed to enable deeper founder–investor engagement, including capital readiness support, diligence facilitation, and meaningful deal conversations.

Key highlights of Season 2 include:

The season is themed “Idhu Kanavukkaana Garjanai” (A roar for dreams), reflecting the ambition of founders building from Tamil Nadu for national and global markets.

Leadership and Ecosystem Support

Startup Singam – Season 2 is led by Kumar Vembu, Hemachandran, Balachander, and Arun, with an enhanced focus on founder mentoring, sustainable scaling, and capital preparedness.

Speaking on the launch, Kumar Vembu, Founder & CEO of Mudhal Partners and Chief Mentor of Startup Singam, said the platform has consistently showcased authentic founder journeys, and Season 2 builds on this foundation with greater ambition, deeper mentorship, and real capital commitment.

Co-founders Hemachandran and Balachander noted that while Season 1 validated the depth and resilience of Tamil Nadu’s startup ecosystem, Season 2 is designed to be sharper, larger, and more impactful, strengthening the state’s presence across Deeptech, SaaS, HealthTech, Manufacturing, and Consumer sectors.

Reflecting strong government–startup ecosystem alignment, T. R. B. Rajaa, Minister, attended the launch as Chief Guest, reinforcing Tamil Nadu’s commitment to innovation-led entrepreneurship.

Season 1 Success Sets the Base

Season 2 builds on the credibility established by Season 1, which featured 39 startups, enabled ₹24+ crore in deployed funding, and delivered high-visibility outcomes. Several participating D2C brands reported up to 7× revenue growth post-telecast.

Notable Season 1 startups included Raptee EV, Kaigal Jobs, Savemom, and Uru Custom Instruments, demonstrating the platform’s ability to convert regional innovation into investable scale.

The new season will premiere on January 25, 2026, on Vijay TV and JioHotstar.
