Cervical Cancer Awareness Month: Tata AIA Highlights Preventive Care Through Health Buddy Platform

Bengaluru: Marking Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, Tata AIA Life Insurance has highlighted the importance of early prevention and screening through its Tata AIA Health Buddy platform, aimed at making preventive healthcare more accessible for families.

Cervical cancer remains the second most common cancer among women in India, accounting for nearly 20% of female cancer cases. Health experts note that up to 90% of cervical cancer cases are preventable through timely HPV vaccination and regular screening. However, screening levels remain low, with fewer than 2% of women aged 30–49 having undergone cervical cancer screening, according to global health agencies.

Through Tata AIA Health Buddy, consumers can access HPV vaccination benefits at discounted rates, enabling families to take preventive action without navigating complex appointment processes. The initiative is designed to encourage early intervention by integrating preventive healthcare services into the insurance ecosystem.

Commenting on the initiative, Sujeet Kothare, Chief of Products, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Business Mid Office, Tata AIA Life Insurance, said that cervical cancer continues to pose a serious health risk to women in India, despite being largely preventable. He noted that proactive measures such as vaccination can play a key role in protecting future generations and that Tata AIA aims to support women’s health through accessible preventive solutions.

Beyond vaccination support, Tata AIA Health Buddy offers a range of healthcare services, including doctor consultations, preventive health check-ups, medical second opinions, case management support, and discounts on medicines and diagnostic tests. These services are available not only to policyholders but also to their nominees and family members.

Tata AIA said the initiative reflects a broader shift towards integrating preventive healthcare into life insurance offerings, with a focus on early action, informed decision-making and long-term well-being for families.
