Union Budget 2026–27: PwC India Sees Boost for Agri Innovation, Exports and Women Empowerment

Commenting on the Union Budget 2026–27, Shashi Kant Singh, Partner – Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness, PwC India, said the Budget reinforces India’s commitment to strengthening agricultural innovation, enhancing export competitiveness and promoting women’s empowerment in agriculture—key pillars of the Viksit Bharat vision.

He said the focused support for high-value crops, along with targeted incentives for the fisheries and dairy sectors, is expected to help augment farm incomes while improving productivity and value addition. According to him, these measures will also strengthen India’s position in global agricultural markets by improving competitiveness and boosting agri-exports.

Singh added that the Budget’s emphasis on innovation-led growth and inclusive participation in agriculture reflects a balanced approach to rural development, combining income generation with long-term sector resilience.
