SRMIST Marks Milestone in Design Thinking Education

Chennai: SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has marked a major milestone by hosting the second convocation for faculty members who have successfully completed a comprehensive three-day Faculty Development Program conducted by the School of Design Thinking (SoDT). The program aims to embed a culture of Design Thinking across all SRMIST campuses, enabling faculty and students to grow as innovative thinkers.

Empowering Faculty and Students

The Faculty Development Program initiative was led by the School of Design Thinking, which has been a strategic partner and catalyst for this transformation at SRMIST since 2019. A total of 110 faculty members from all major engineering departments received their certificates, joining a distinguished cohort of 165 faculty alumni from the first convocation event.

Renewal of MoU

The event also witnessed the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between SRMIST, School of Design Thinking, and Intellect Design Arena for the next five years. This partnership aims to continue fostering innovation and creativity in education.

Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, SRMIST, expressed his belief in Design Thinking as a human-centric approach to solving real-world problems. Dr. Shantanu Patil, Director, DEI, SRMIST, highlighted the impact of Design Thinking in driving deep differentiation in one’s approach to design new solutions.

Ramanan SV, CEO-India & South Asia, Intellect Design Arena Ltd., emphasized the importance of fostering the right mindset for true innovation and growth.
