AESL Signs MoU with ITBP to Provide Scholarships for Personnel Families

Chennai: Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), a leading test preparation institute in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to extend educational support to its personnel and their families.

The initiative will benefit serving and retired ITBP personnel, gallantry awardees, disabled members, boarded-out cases, and families of martyrs who lost their lives in the line of duty.

As part of the agreement, AESL has launched a five-year education support programme aimed at providing structured coaching, scholarships, and financial assistance to eligible students across the country. The programme seeks to reduce financial barriers and improve access to quality coaching for competitive examinations.

AESL Managing Director and CEO, Chandra Sekhar Garisa Reddy, said the collaboration recognises the service of ITBP personnel and aims to support their families through access to premium academic resources, scholarships, and career guidance. He noted that similar agreements have been signed earlier with the Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Under the scheme, AESL will offer scholarships based on service categories:

  • 100% fee waiver (excluding registration and admission fees) for wards of martyrs, disabled personnel, boarded-out cases, and orphans.
  • 90% tuition fee waiver for wards of gallantry awardees and personnel with over 20% disability, subject to certification.
  • 20% scholarship on tuition fees for wards of serving and retired personnel, in addition to other merit-based scholarships.

To ensure wider participation, AESL will conduct national-level scholarship and talent identification tests, including the Aakash National Talent Hunt Exam (ANTHE), at ITBP schools and AESL centres across the country.

The initiative will also include mentoring support and career counselling through both online and offline platforms, along with outreach programmes within ITBP units.
