Airbus Secures Landmark Order for India’s First H175 and Two ACH160 Helicopters

Chennai: Airbus Corporate Helicopters has secured a landmark order for two ACH160 helicopters and one H175 from a private Indian customer, marking a significant milestone for the country’s civil helicopter market. The operator, an existing ACH160 customer, will become India’s first customer for the H175 super-medium helicopter.

The order marks the entry of the H175 into India’s civil aviation segment. The helicopter will be delivered in a 16-seat passenger configuration, with delivery scheduled for 2026. The two ACH160 helicopters will be custom-configured to the customer’s specific requirements and are expected to be delivered in 2027.

Commenting on the development, Sunny Guglani, Head of Airbus Helicopters in India and South Asia, said the repeat order reflects the growing maturity of India’s civil helicopter market. He noted that both the ACH160 and H175 are well suited for passenger transport, offering superior performance, comfort, and reliability.

The ACH160 is designed to combine power, elegance, and advanced technology, catering to business and private aviation needs where efficiency and comfort are critical. Its design enables operators to optimise time-sensitive travel while maintaining high standards of safety and performance.

The H175, Airbus Helicopters’ super-medium twin-engine platform, strengthens the company’s civil portfolio with its versatility, extended range, and payload capability. Featuring low vibration and sound levels, along with advanced Helionix avionics and safety systems, the H175 is positioned to deliver enhanced comfort and safety for passenger transportation.

The order underscores Airbus Helicopters’ expanding footprint in India and highlights growing demand for modern, high-performance civil helicopters in the country.
