Chennai Hosts Key Roundtable Ahead of The Battery Show India 2025

Chennai: Ahead of the 3rd edition of The Battery Show India (TBSI), a high-impact industry roundtable was held in Chennai, spotlighting India’s energy storage and EV manufacturing momentum. TBSI 2025 will be co-located with Renewable Energy India (REI) from October 30 to November 1 at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, featuring 350+ exhibitors, 400+ brands, and 100+ speakers.

India’s lithium-ion battery market, valued at USD 2.54 billion in 2023, is projected to reach USD 6.92 billion by 2030. The Chennai roundtable brought together leaders from Raasi Group, IPG Photonics, Dürr India, NASH Energy, Light Mechanics, and Informa Markets to discuss supply chain resilience, advanced manufacturing, and domestic innovation.

Tamil Nadu’s rise as an EV and electronics hub was a key focus, with the state contributing 7% of India’s EV sales in FY2025 and planning 500 new public charging stations. Industry leaders emphasized the need for localized battery production, advanced laser welding, and scalable cell manufacturing to meet India’s clean energy goals.

TBSI 2025 will showcase cutting-edge technologies across the battery value chain, with participation from Japan, USA, Korea, Taiwan, and China. A live Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) zone and sessions on Beyond Mobility, BESS, and net-zero innovations will be major highlights.

The Chennai roundtable served as a curtain-raiser to India’s energy storage transformation, reinforcing the state’s pivotal role in driving sustainable mobility and manufacturing excellence.
