Grace Food Courts Expands Chicking Footprint in South India with 21-Store Acquisition, New Flagship in Chennai
Chennai: Grace Food Courts Pvt. Ltd. (GFCPL) has strengthened Chicking’s presence in South India with the launch of a new flagship outlet at Shanti Colony, Anna Nagar, marking a strategic shift towards consolidation-led growth in the region’s competitive Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) market.
The Anna Nagar outlet is GFCPL’s first major initiative after acquiring the Master Franchise rights for the Dubai-based QSR brand Chicking across India, excluding Kerala. As part of this strategy, the company has also assumed operational control of 21 existing Chicking outlets, bringing the previously fragmented network under a centralised management and operating framework.
The outlet was inaugurated by Chicking Founder and Chairman Mansoor A.K., in the presence of Anna Nagar MLA M.K. Mohan. During the event, the company highlighted India’s growing significance for the brand, with over 125 outlets in India out of Chicking’s global network of more than 450 stores across 45 countries.
Describing the launch as a milestone, Ajay Kumar, Founding Partner and CEO of Grace Food Courts, said the flagship outlet represents a scalable model for future expansion.
“This flagship reflects our focus on strong operational controls and international standards. We are also preparing for the next phase of growth, including our entry into the vegetarian South Indian QSR space,” he said, adding that further announcements would follow soon.
The Anna Nagar outlet will serve as a proof of concept for GFCPL’s centralised operations, aimed at improving consistency, efficiency and customer experience across markets.
GFCPL has announced an accelerated expansion plan, with a new Chicking outlet set to open at Gopalan Mall, Bengaluru, followed by another store at Maduravoyal, Chennai, later this month.
In addition to Chicking, the group continues to expand its CoffeTea cafe and bakery brand. As part of this growth, CoffeTea will open its first experience store at Gopalapuram, Cathedral Road, Chennai, later this month, further strengthening GFCPL’s presence in the city’s premium food and beverage segment.
