Coromandel Chemicals and Sakarni Plaster Form Joint Venture

National: Coromandel Chemicals Limited, a subsidiary of Coromandel International Limited, has signed a joint venture agreement with Sakarni Plaster to manufacture and sell Phospho Gypsum-based Green Building Materials.

The joint venture aims to capitalize on the growing demand for eco-friendly building materials, driven by the construction sector’s expansion and the need for affordable housing. The partnership will leverage Coromandel’s manufacturing strength and Sakarni’s market leadership to deliver high-quality, sustainable gypsum solutions.

Sankarasubramanian, Managing Director and CEO of Coromandel International Limited, stated, “This joint venture represents a strategic move for Coromandel in advancing our sustainability and circular economy goals… By combining our strengths, we aim to deliver eco-friendly gypsum solutions that meet the evolving needs of India’s housing and infrastructure sectors.”

The joint venture aligns with the Government of India’s initiatives, including the Circular Economy roadmap and Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, promoting local manufacturing, reducing import dependence, and supporting environmentally responsible alternatives.
