Cosmo Foundation Celebrates Children’s Day with Renewed Focus on Foundational Learning

Mumbai: On the occasion of Children’s Day, Cosmo Foundation — the philanthropic arm of Cosmo First Limited — reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy among rural children in Gujarat and Maharashtra. This year’s theme, “Investing in the Future,” highlights the critical role of early education in shaping India’s next generation.

Since 2009, Cosmo Foundation has impacted over 24,000 children through its Cosmo Gyan Vihar Kendras, which promote joyful, activity-based learning aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). The centres integrate play, storytelling, art, and group exercises to foster creativity, comprehension, and confidence.

Central to the model are Balmitras — trained women educators from local communities — who serve as mentors, improve attendance, and support holistic development including emotional well-being and hygiene awareness.

“We are investing in the skilled human capital of our nation,” said Yamini Kumar Jaipuria, Managing Trustee, Cosmo Foundation. “Every child deserves quality learning with dignity. This is our pledge to India’s future.”

Educators report measurable improvements in reading fluency, numeracy, and classroom engagement. The Foundation also conducts value-building sessions to nurture empathy, discipline, and inclusivity, with focused support for children from migrant and single-parent families.

“Our students eagerly await Cosmo Foundation’s sessions. Learning has become enjoyable and impactful,” said Girishbhai Prajapati, Principal, Primary School, Choranda (Vadodara).

As India moves toward the vision of Viksit Bharat, Cosmo Foundation continues to invest in foundational learning as a cornerstone of national progress.
