Cosmo Foundation and Pratham Book Champions Partner for International Literacy Day Campaign
Mumbai: Cosmo Foundation, the community outreach initiative of Cosmo First, has partnered with Pratham Book Champions for the ‘One Day One Story’ campaign, coinciding with International Literacy Day. The campaign aims to promote literacy among rural children in Gujarat and Maharashtra by conducting creative storytelling sessions.
Reaching 2,000 Children
The campaign will reach 2,000 children across the two states, providing them with access to stories in their local languages, including Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, and English. Two carefully selected books, ‘I am Not a Cat’ and ‘Surki & Tirki’, will be distributed free of cost to participating children. According to Yamini Jaipuria, Managing Trustee, Cosmo Foundation, the campaign aligns with the organization’s 3E philosophy of ensuring quality education for students.
Community-Driven Approach
The campaign employs both virtual and offline delivery methods to maximize accessibility and involves employees, local teachers, and community members in its implementation. This collaborative model ensures that the initiative resonates with local communities and creates a lasting impact beyond the campaign period. The partnership builds upon Cosmo Foundation’s existing educational initiatives, which have demonstrated significant impact in rural communities.
