DP World Cochin Sets New Record, Handles Over 834,000 TEUs in FY 2024-25

Chennai: DP World Cochin has achieved an all-time high-volume record, handling 834,665 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in FY 2024-25, registering an 11% year-on-year growth.

The terminal also set a new record for transshipment volume at 169,562 TEUs and achieved the highest single-vessel volume transaction. DP World Cochin recorded 640 vessel calls in FY 2024-25, one of the highest among South and East India terminals.

The terminal has expanded its capacity with strategic infrastructure upgrades, including new Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes, electrified Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes (e-RTGs), and an expanded yard space, boosting its total capacity to ~1.4 million TEUs.

Praveen Joseph, CEO, DP World Ports & Terminals, Cochin, said, “We had another successful year, and we will continue to focus on ease of doing business, fast delivery times, high productivity, and sustainability to benefit the trade.”

DP World Cochin offers direct mainline connectivity to key regions, enabling 50% of cargo to be transported directly on mother vessels, reducing transit time.
