Eveready Creates Record-Breaking Toy Truck for Durga Puja Celebration
Mumbai: Eveready Industries India Ltd. has partnered with Vikramshila Education Resource Society to support a Durga Puja celebration organized by underprivileged children. To make their Puja special, Eveready has created the largest AA battery-powered remote-controlled toy truck, aptly named ‘Ultima Bahon’. This one-of-a-kind creation carries the idol of Goddess Durga into the Puja premises and has been recognized by the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.
The Story Behind Ultima Bahon
In the spirit of children’s love for toys, Eveready collaborated with engineers to design this toy truck, powered by 8 Eveready Ultima AA batteries with 400% longer lasting power. The name ‘Ultima Bahon’ is inspired by the Bengali word for vehicle, which also refers to the divine rides of Goddess Durga and her family in the context of Durga Puja. The truck carries miniature depictions of these divine vehicles, symbolizing the essence of Puja and showcasing Indian creativity and engineering.
A Celebration Beyond Records
The Ultima Bahon is not just a record-breaking achievement but also a symbol of joy and happiness for the children. According to Piyali Biswas, Teacher at Vikramshila Education Resource Society, “The Ultima Bahon is not just a record-making truck; it’s a vehicle of happiness and pride for every child here.” Actress Priyanka Sarkar, who was present at the unveiling, said, “The Ultima Bahon is a beautiful initiative — a toy truck carrying Ma Durga, powered only by batteries. It’s a reminder that celebrations don’t need to be huge to be special; sometimes the simplest joys create the most unforgettable memories”.
Bridging the Contrast
Eveready’s initiative bridges the gap between grand Puja celebrations and smaller, heartfelt ones. By sponsoring the entire Puja process for the school, Eveready has ensured that these children can experience the magic of the season with dhaak beats, incense, and the joy of seeing Ma Durga arrive on their very own ‘Ultima Bahon’. Anirban Banerjee, CEO of Eveready Industries India Ltd., said, “With Ultima Bahon, we wanted to bring smiles to these children and give them a story they can cherish forever”.
