FICCI TANCARE Summit 2025 Calls for Collaborative Healthcare Efforts
Chennai: The FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council hosted the TANCARE Summit 2025 in Chennai on Thursday, bringing together healthcare leaders and experts under the theme “Leapfrogging TN Healthcare: Leveraging Talent, Technology, Outcomes for Global Healthcare Leadership.” The summit highlighted the importance of collaboration, technology adoption, and investment in strengthening Tamil Nadu’s healthcare ecosystem.
Delivering the valedictory address, A Arun Thamburaj, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Government of Tamil Nadu, stressed the need for government–private partnerships in cancer detection and treatment. He announced plans to make Tamil Nadu a cervical cancer-free state through vaccination drives and collaborative initiatives. He also revealed discussions with IIT Madras on deploying artificial intelligence for diagnosis and treatment, alongside industry partnerships for medical equipment and products.
Thamburaj lauded the state government’s funding support—covering nearly 80 percent of cancer care initiatives—and noted that several centres are already providing advanced treatment. He urged further innovation in digital healthcare, particularly across cancer centres in 16 districts.
In his welcome address, G S K Velu, Chairman, FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council, said healthcare is shifting from capacity-based to outcome-based models, with data and AI playing a central role in decision-making. He highlighted the growing role of robotics and technology-enabled healthcare, positioning Tamil Nadu as a potential global destination for medical excellence.
Velu also underlined the importance of the National Health Mission in advancing personalised medical education and clinical trials.
From the investment perspective, Venkat Subramaniyam, Founder and Director, Veda Corporate Advisors, noted that healthcare remains one of the most attractive sectors for private equity. “Every day we see news of healthcare chains raising capital. The deal activity is incomparable,” he said, adding that while consolidation in multi-specialties is expected, the sector continues to offer a strong mix of growth, profitability, and stability. He predicted that 2026 will remain a robust year for healthcare investments in India, with only marginal shifts in trends.
Dr Praveen Raj, Convenor, FICCI Tamil Nadu Healthcare Panel, emphasized the need to build a strong ecosystem backed by investments and momentum, expressing confidence that Tamil Nadu will surpass other states in healthcare leadership.
S Rajarajan, Co-convenor, FICCI Tamil Nadu Healthcare Panel, praised the summit for fostering dialogue at a crucial time when the healthcare sector requires strong support from both government and private stakeholders.
The TANCARE Summit 2025 concluded with a collective call for collaboration, innovation, and investment to position Tamil Nadu as a frontrunner in global healthcare delivery.
