Global Peace Festival 2026 to Promote Unity, Expand Widow Welfare Support in Chennai

Chennai: The Global Peace Festival – Chennai is set to take place on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the YMCA Grounds, Nandanam. The event is expected to bring together people from diverse communities to promote peace, unity and social harmony.

Organisers said the festival aims to foster coexistence, compassion and mutual respect by creating a shared platform for dialogue and collective responsibility toward building an inclusive society.

A key highlight of the evening will be the expansion of a widow welfare programme led by Dr. Paul, International President of the Global Peace Festival. Under the new phase, support will be extended to an additional 15,000 widows, increasing the total number of beneficiaries to 25,000, including the 10,000 women already covered. The initiative provides sustained financial assistance and social support to help vulnerable women lead secure and dignified lives.

The festival will also feature the announcement of a large-scale employment drive aimed at generating job opportunities for youth. The initiative plans to collaborate with multiple multinational companies to organise coordinated recruitment efforts. The programme draws inspiration from Dr. Paul’s earlier employment initiative in Hyderabad, which reportedly brought together nearly 700 companies to create job opportunities.

Organisers stated that by combining a message of peace with tangible welfare and employment initiatives, the Global Peace Festival 2026 seeks to serve as a catalyst for meaningful and lasting social change.
