HARTEK Secures INR 353.77 Crore Solar and Battery Storage EPC Project in Karnataka

Mumbai: Hartek Power, one of India’s leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, has secured a renewable energy contract worth approximately INR 353.77 crore in Karnataka.

The company has been awarded the EPC scope for a 280 MW AC / 410 MWp DC solar photovoltaic project along with an 80 MW / 320 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Challakere. The scope includes design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning, along with one year of operations and maintenance.

The project comes at a time when India is increasingly integrating large-scale renewable generation with energy storage to enhance grid stability and ensure reliable power supply. Battery energy storage systems are playing a growing role in managing the intermittency of solar power and enabling round-the-clock energy availability.

Commenting on the order, Simarpreet Singh, Executive Director and CEO, Hartek Group, said, “This project reflects the growing maturity of India’s renewable energy market, where solar generation and storage are coming together as integrated solutions. Our continued investment in engineering capabilities and execution excellence allows us to deliver projects of this scale and complexity.”

Challakere is emerging as a key renewable energy hub, and the project will contribute to Karnataka’s expanding clean energy capacity.

The order further strengthens Hartek Power’s position in the utility-scale solar segment and marks a significant step in the company’s expansion into battery energy storage projects, supporting India’s broader renewable energy and energy transition goals.
