Hyatt Regency Chennai Unveils ‘Tree of Goodness’ with The Good Doll

Chennai: Hyatt Regency Chennai has launched a unique Christmas installation titled the Tree of Goodness, blending sustainability, inclusion, and social impact. The initiative is part of Hyatt’s global World of Care ESG strategy and was created in collaboration with The Good Doll, a purpose-driven company supporting women artisans.

Unlike conventional festive décor, the tree is adorned with hundreds of handcrafted six-inch fabric dolls. Each doll was made in the Nilgiris by underprivileged women artisans and dressed in traditional Indian attire, symbolizing both cultural pride and sustainable craftsmanship.

The installation highlights Hyatt’s commitment to caring for people and the planet through three key pillars:

  • Sustainable Livelihoods: Providing financial independence and equitable employment opportunities for rural and indigenous craftswomen.
  • Eco-Conscious Choices: Offering a sustainable alternative to plastic ornaments.
  • Responsible Business: Reinforcing responsible sourcing, community upliftment, and celebrating inclusive Indian artistry.

Speaking about the collaboration, representatives from Hyatt Regency Chennai emphasized that the Tree of Goodness reflects the hotel’s vision of a more compassionate and sustainable festive season.

The Good Doll, known for championing authentic Indian identities and empowering women artisans, echoed this sentiment, noting that the partnership showcases how businesses can celebrate traditions while driving positive social change.

With this initiative, Hyatt Regency Chennai sets a festive example of how sustainability and inclusion can be woven into celebrations, creating joy with purpose.
