IIM Sambalpur Celebrates 10 Years of Excellence

Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur recently marked a decade of academic excellence, institutional growth, and innovation. The occasion was celebrated with the inauguration of three new campus facilities: the BS Program Hostel, Café Hub Complex, and Rangabati Open Theater. These state-of-the-art facilities demonstrate the institute’s commitment to providing a holistic learning experience for its students.

Inauguration and Celebration

The event was graced by the presence of Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, who congratulated the institute on its achievements. Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, highlighted the institute’s significant accomplishments over the past decade, including its ranking improvement in the NIRF 2025 rankings and its pioneering use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled classrooms.

New Facilities

The new facilities inaugurated on the occasion include:

• BS Program Hostel: A modern hostel facility providing comfortable accommodation for students
• Rangabati Open Theater: A scenic open-air theater for cultural events and performances
• Café Hub Complex: A social hub for students to relax, interact, and engage in discussions

Achievements and Recognition

IIM Sambalpur has made significant strides in recent years, including:

• NIRF 2025 Rankings: The institute climbed 16 spots to rank 34th among management institutions
• AI-enabled Classrooms: IIM Sambalpur has become the first institution globally to incorporate AI-enabled classrooms and teaching modules
• Gender Diversity: The institute has achieved a high level of gender diversity in its MBA batches, with 76% female students in the current second-year batch
• Global Accreditations: IIM Sambalpur is in the advanced stage of achieving “Triple Crown” international accreditation

Empowering Master Weavers

The institute has also been working on empowering master weavers through its Master Weavers Training Program, which has mentored 80 master weavers who are now showcasing their products globally through digital platforms. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan praised IIM Sambalpur for undertaking this unique initiative and presented certificates to the master weavers in recognition of their participation.

Future Plans

As IIM Sambalpur embarks on its second decade, the institute is resolutely focused on strengthening its academic programs and achieving its vision of becoming a globally ranked management institution with Triple Crown accreditation.
