IIM Sambalpur Welcomes Inaugural MBA Business Analytics and 11th MBA Cohort
Mumbai: IIM Sambalpur has welcomed its inaugural batch of MBA Business Analytics and 11th batch of MBA students, showcasing a commitment to academic excellence and diversity. The incoming batch consists of 363 graduates, with 51.24% holding engineering degrees and 48.76% from non-engineering backgrounds.
Key Highlights:
- The MBA Business Analytics program has 61.70% engineers, while the flagship MBA program has a near-equal distribution of engineers and non-engineers.
- 75% of the entire cohort has prior work experience, with 100% of the MBA-BA cohort possessing industry experience.
- The batch exhibits healthy gender diversity, with 33% female and 67% male students overall.
- Students come from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, including commerce, pure sciences, management, arts, and specialized fields like agriculture, pharmacy, and law.
Director’s Vision:
Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, emphasized the institution’s mission to make Sambalpur the first sustainable city in India. He highlighted the importance of developing leaders who are not just job-seekers but job-creators with entrepreneurial mindsets.
Inaugural Ceremony:
The ceremony was attended by eminent personalities, including V. Srinivas, IAS, Secretary, DARPG, GOI, and Rajiv Kumar, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium. The speakers emphasized the importance of innovation, integrity, and inclusiveness in shaping the future of business and society.
Batch Profile:
The batch comes from almost all states and union territories of India, with Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh accounting for 13% and 12% of the incoming batch, respectively. The students have diverse sectoral representation, including IT, engineering, banking, consulting, retail, and FMCG.
