IMTEX Forming 2026 to Showcase Global Metal Forming Innovations in Bengaluru
Chennai: The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) has announced that IMTEX Forming 2026, Asia’s largest exhibition on metal forming technologies, will be held from January 21 to 25, 2026 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru.
The biennial event will bring together global industry leaders, cutting-edge technologies, and a wide spectrum of manufacturing solutions.
Concurrent Shows
IMTEX Forming 2026 will be held alongside several specialised exhibitions:
- Tooltech – machine tool accessories, metrology solutions, CAD/CAM tools, and tooling systems.
- Digital Manufacturing – real-time solutions in additive manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
- Weldexpo – organised with the Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India), showcasing advanced welding technologies.
- Moldex India & Fastenex India – organised by Messe Stuttgart, focusing on moulding, fasteners, and fixing technologies.
Parallel Events
The exhibition will also host:
- International Seminar on Forming Technology (Jan 22–23, 2026), the ninth edition, spotlighting new trends, processes, and equipment.
- i2 Academia Square, a platform for research institutions to present R&D initiatives to industry stakeholders.
- Jagruti – IMTMA Youth Programme, aimed at familiarising young professionals with the latest manufacturing advancements.
Global Participation
Exhibitor groups from Germany, Italy, Japan, and Taiwan will showcase innovations across sectors including automotive, aerospace, defence, medical equipment, power, railways, construction, heavy engineering, capital goods, electronics, and consumer goods.
Industry Outlook
“Metal forming currently accounts for 29% of the Indian machine tool market and is poised for significant growth,” said Mohini Kelkar, President, IMTMA. “In FY25, consumption of metal forming machine tools stood at ₹9,139 crore, while production was valued at ₹2,696 crore. Exports grew by 6% year-on-year, with presses leading the list, followed by press brakes, bending machines, and shearing machines.”
Highlighting emerging technologies, Jibak Dasgupta, Director General & CEO, IMTMA, added: “Laser-based applications are gaining traction across industries. Exhibitors will showcase fibre laser machines, precision levellers, servo presses, welding solutions, 3D printing, and machine monitoring systems. IMTEX Forming 2026 will accelerate the manufacturing of homegrown products and their exports.”
