Jaipur Watch Company Showcases Collectible Watches Featuring India’s First Republic Coin

Chennai, January 23, 2026: As India marks its 77th Republic Day, Jaipur Watch Company has unveiled a curated collection of luxury timepieces that incorporate authentic coins from the early years of the Republic of India, celebrating the country’s heritage through horology.

Curated by Gaurav Mehta, Founder, Jaipur Watch Company, the collection highlights the brand’s signature approach of embedding genuine 1950s Indian coins into watch dials. These coins, minted during India’s formative post-Independence years, are ethically sourced and integrated into the watches at the company’s Jaipur workshops. Each timepiece is protected by sapphire crystal and powered by Swiss ETA quartz movements.

The Republic Day curation features three standout models:

Indian Pegasus Watch:
Limited to 200 serial-numbered units, this watch features the One Paisa “Galloping Horse” coin (1950–55)—the first coin of the Republic of India—set against a carbon fibre dial with Hindi numeral markings.

The brand said the watches are aimed at collectors and enthusiasts seeking products that blend Indian history, craftsmanship and modern design.
