Kala Santhe: 10-Day Handloom & Handicraft Bazaar Opens in Chennai
Chennai: Manya Art & Kraft, in collaboration with Smart Art Events, has inaugurated its annual exhibition, Kala Santhe – A Handloom & Handicraft Bazaar, at the Government Museum, Egmore.
The 10-day exhibition, which will run until February 9, 2025, features over 90 stalls showcasing exquisite handloom and handicraft products from across India. Visitors can explore a wide array of traditional textiles, ethnic crafts, home décor, jewelry, and hand-crafted artifacts.
The exhibition was inaugurated by renowned cine actor Soundariya Nanjundan. This year’s edition features new artisans from various parts of the country, including Orissa, Manipur, Himachal Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
Kala Santhe aims to promote India’s rich heritage and vibrant culture, providing a platform for artisans to showcase their traditional craftsmanship. The exhibition is open to visitors from 10 am to 8 pm.
Organizers Manya Art & Kraft stated, “Our aim is to promote heritage textiles and acknowledge the effort and talent of artisans who weave and craft these magical wonders.”
