Khaitan & Co Names Vimal Choudhary as COO to Drive Strategic Growth
Bengaluru: Khaitan & Co, one of India’s leading full-service law firms, has appointed Vimal Choudhary as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), reinforcing its leadership team at a time of strategic expansion.
Choudhary, a seasoned professional with over 23 years of experience in global consulting, strategy, and operations, previously served as Head of McKinsey’s Global Centres in India and Global Chief Strategy Officer at McKinsey Global Services. He will be based in the firm’s Mumbai office.

As COO, Choudhary will oversee all internal functions, with a mandate to spearhead strategic initiatives, integrate digital and AI-led innovation, strengthen operational infrastructure, and enhance the firm’s knowledge and capability platforms. His focus will include implementing next-generation technology solutions and instituting best-in-class processes to boost collaboration, resilience, and scale.
A Chartered Accountant and MBA, Choudhary is a McKinsey veteran who held several global leadership roles during his 23-year tenure. He shaped strategy and operations for McKinsey Global Services, managed the firm’s largest office complex outside the US in India, and led initiatives in client services, acquisition integration, digital capability building, talent development, and business expansion. He also served on the boards of McKinsey Global Capabilities and Services and ETML Singapore, an analytics company acquired by McKinsey.
