Kishan R and Preemal J Crowned Champions at ARC 34th National Tenpin Bowling Championships

Bengaluru: Former national champion Kishan R of Karnataka clinched his second national title in the Men’s Division at the ARC 34th National Tenpin Bowling Championships, which concluded at Amoeba, Church Street in Bengaluru. In the Women’s Division, Karnataka’s Preemal J captured her maiden national title, ending the state’s 15-year wait for a championship in this category.

In the men’s championship match, played on the basis of cumulative pinfall over two games, top seed Kishan R delivered a composed performance. He secured an early lead of 17 pins in the first game with a score of 208 against Akaash Ashok Kumar’s 191. Kishan further strengthened his position in the second game, recording the highest game score of 244 compared to Akaash’s 238, sealing the title with an overall margin of 23 pins (452–429).

Earlier in the day, in the first match of the Men’s Division stepladder round, third seed Akaash Ashok Kumar (358) defeated fourth seed Shanmugananda (308) by 50 pins. Akaash continued his impressive form in the next match, scoring 476 to defeat second seed Dhruv Sarda (374) by a commanding margin of 102 pins and advance to the final.

In the Women’s Division final, fourth seed Preemal J took an early advantage by scoring 188 in the first game, leading top seed Sabina Athica of Tamil Nadu (168) by 20 pins. Despite a close second game, Preemal maintained her composure and secured victory by a margin of 24 pins with a cumulative score of 332–308, claiming her first national title.

Earlier in the day, during the first match of the Women’s Division stepladder round, Preemal J (357) defeated third seed Shabeena Kasmani of Maharashtra (338) by 19 pins. She then edged past second seed Anukriti Bishnoi of Haryana with a score of 422–409, winning by 13 pins to advance to the final.
