Actor Ma Ka Pa Anand Launches SKY–ATHLETICA 2026 at Chennais Amirta Aviation Campus Annual Sports Meet

Chennai: SKY–ATHLETICA 2026, the annual sports meet of Chennais Amirta International Institute of Aviation, was launched in grand style by popular actor and television host Ma Ka Pa Anand. The two-day sporting event took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty.

The event was attended by R. Boomeenaathaan, Chairman of Chennais Amirta Group of Institutions, along with Suren Thulasiram, Dean – Academics, Dr. Rahul, Vice Principal, and Mr. Arun, Academic Coordinator.

The ceremony began with the lighting of the Olympic Torch by Ma Ka Pa Anand, who also flagged off the prestigious 4×100 metres relay race. The sports meet featured a wide range of competitions including volleyball, kabaddi, throwball, and sprint races, showcasing the vibrant sporting spirit of more than 500 participating students.

Adding cultural flair to the event were gymnastics and Silambam performances by state and national-level players, demonstrating remarkable agility, strength, and traditional martial arts heritage. The two-day event concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony where Ma Ka Pa Anand presented medals and trophies to the winners.

Speaking at the event, R. Boomeenaathaan said sports play a vital role in shaping students beyond academics.

“Sports teaches us lessons that classrooms alone cannot—discipline, teamwork, resilience, and the spirit to rise again after a fall. At Chennais Amirta Aviation Campus, we aim to develop not only aviation professionals but confident individuals with strong character. SKY–ATHLETICA 2026 celebrates that spirit,” he said.

Chennais Amirta International Institute of Aviation is known for offering world-class aviation education with state-of-the-art facilities. The institute features a mini airport within its 45,000 sq. ft. campus, enabling students to simulate real-life aviation scenarios, particularly in in-flight training. Graduates from the institute have gone on to build successful careers in the global aviation industry.
