Madras Art Guild Brings Japanese Cinema to Chennai with Exclusive Showcase

Chennai: The Madras Art Guild, in association with the Yuj Foundation and the Consulate General of Japan in Chennai, is set to bring the richness of Japanese cinema to the city. On March 9, 2025, the guild will host an exclusive Japanese Cinema showcase at the Kalki Theatre, VR Chennai.

The special screening will feature a curated selection of acclaimed Japanese films, including award-winning dramas, sci-fi comedies, anime, and heartfelt comedies. The lineup includes “The Lines That Define Me,” “And So the Baton Is Passed,” “MONDAYS: See You This Week,” “The Place Promised in Our Early Days,” and “BL Metamorphosis.”

This cultural exchange aims to deepen cross-cultural appreciation and introduce Chennai’s audiences to the artistry of Japanese filmmakers. The event reinforces the festival’s mission to create a vibrant platform for art and cinema lovers.
