Mankind Pharma Launches Video Campaign to Drive Organ Donation Awareness
Mumbai: Mankind Pharma, India’s fourth-largest pharma company, has launched a powerful video campaign featuring Amitabh Bachchan to raise awareness about organ donation on World Organ Donation Day. The campaign, themed “Live Beyond Your Life,” aims to address India’s critically low organ donation rates and encourage citizens to register as organ donors.
A Critical Need for Organ Donation
India faces a significant gap between demand and supply for organs, with less than 1% of the population pledging to donate their organs. Thousands of patients wait for life-saving organ transplants, including kidneys, liver, eyes, and hearts. The campaign seeks to bridge this gap by inspiring more people to pledge their organs.
A Call to Action
Rajeev Juneja, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Mankind Pharma, emphasized the importance of collective action in transforming healthcare outcomes. Dr. Kanika Rastogi from the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) highlighted the impact of one donor saving up to eight lives. The campaign aims to create a lasting impact on public consciousness about the importance of organ donation.
