Experience the Spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival with a Special Menu at Golden Dragon, Taj Coromandel Chennai

Chennai, September 2024: Golden Dragon, the signature Sichuan & Cantonese cuisine restaurant at Taj Coromandel Chennai, is delighted to present a culinary celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a time-honoured tradition that symbolises joy, good fortune and the successful reaping of rice and wheat.

This festival, deeply rooted in Chinese culture, is celebrated with family gatherings, moon-gazing, and the sharing of mooncakes. This year, Golden Dragon’s Master Chef Lian invites you to celebrate this joyous occasion with a specially curated menu inspired by his cherished childhood memories of the Autumn Moon festival, available from 17th to 27th September 2024.

The hand-crafted menu brings together an exquisite selection of dishes complete with the traditional quintessential flavours from the regions of China. Indulge in Shrimp and Chicken Combination Shaomai, a delightful mix of celery and ginger, or savour the flavours of Northern Lamb Dumplings seasoned with cumin, coriander, and crushed pepper. For those who prefer vegetarian options, go for the Mushroom Spinach and Corn Dim Sum, wrapped in delicate wheat and potato starch dough, and the soft Steamed Mantao Buns served with a pounded chili garlic dip.

The menu also features a selection of wok-prepared dishes – the Braised Duck, wok-smoked and paired with bamboo shoots, onions and garlic, offers a delicious experience, while the Scallops are steamed to perfection and finished with crushed garlic and sesame oil. The Ciba Fish Hubei, pan-seared with garlic, chili, and peppers, offers a delightful blend of flavours. Meat lovers can enjoy the Stir-Fried Lamb with smoked chilies, leek and Shao Xing wine, and the Boiled Pork Belly that comes with pounded garlic, fresh red chilies and soy. Vegetarian options are equally enticing, with dishes like Lotus Stem Family Style, stir-fried with garlic, dry red chilies and Shao Xing wine, and Yangchow Tofu, crisp-fried and wok-smoked.

To accompany this sumptuous meal, Golden Dragon offers a selection of refreshing beverages to complement the festive menu. Choose from mocktails such as the Passion Fruit Delight, a blend of lychee juice, passion fruit syrup and lime, the Mihou Tao Mojito, a refreshing mix of kiwi, mint, lime, cinnamon syrup and soda, or the Cucumber Lemongrass Twist combining cucumber, lemongrass, lime and Sprite. The cocktail selection includes the Fortune Ball Martini, Fortune tea infused Vodka, lime and litchee, the Li Luólè Yè, a mix of gin, pears, basil syrup and lime, and the Feel the Bergamot, made with rum, Earl Grey tea, demerara sugar and lime wedges.

To conclude your meal, the dessert selection includes traditional Moon Cakes filled with red bean paste and baked in-house, Star Anise Infused Chocolate Pudding served warm, and the unique Caramelized Walnut and Orange Ice Cream, churned with crushed caramelized walnuts and dehydrated orange peel, for a delightful finish.
