MSDE Organizes Workshop on PMKVY Implementation to Enhance Skill Development
Mumbai: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) recently organized a workshop on “PMKVY Implementation with Awarding Bodies” under its “Kaushal Manthan” initiative. The event aimed to discuss the performance, challenges, and future roadmap of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
- Enhancing Skill Development: The workshop focused on strengthening the quality of training under PMKVY 4.0, reviewing the performance of Awarding Bodies, and standardizing the assessment alignment process.
- Industry Collaboration: The event emphasized the importance of industry-led training and increasing industry collaboration to make skill development training more aspirational for candidates.
- Future Roadmap: The workshop discussed the future roadmap of PMKVY, including the incorporation of an escalation mechanism to address grievance-related issues and facilitating the inclusion of job roles/courses of other Awarding Bodies under PMKVY 4.0.
Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE, highlighted the critical role of Awarding Bodies in ensuring high-quality skill certification and seamless execution of PMKVY. He emphasized the need for a targeted approach to skill development, ensuring alignment with industry needs.
Over 1.6 crore candidates have been trained under PMKVY since its launch in 2015. PMKVY 4.0 is currently being implemented, focusing on making the skilling ecosystem more flexible, inclusive, and technology-driven.
The workshop served as a crucial platform for dialogue and collaboration, reinforcing the importance of aligning skill development efforts with industry needs.
