NICMAR’s Bharat Nav-Nirmaan Challenge Sees Participation from Over 500 Colleges

Mumbai: NICMAR’s flagship Bharat Nav-Nirmaan Challenge has drawn participation from more than 500 colleges across India, including several IITs and NITs, highlighting strong nationwide student engagement in infrastructure innovation.

Supported by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the multi-stage competition offers prizes worth ₹30 lakh and encourages undergraduate students to develop practical solutions for real-world infrastructure challenges.

College-level rounds are currently underway and will conclude by January 31, 2026, after which shortlisted teams will advance to city-level rounds across 11 cities, followed by regional stages and a National Grand Finale.

Participating institutions include IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Hyderabad, along with NIT Calicut, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Kurukshetra and NIT Meghalaya, among hundreds of engineering, architecture and planning colleges nationwide.

Aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047, the challenge focuses on themes such as sustainable infrastructure, urban development, mobility, housing, energy efficiency and resilient cities.
