Made-in-India Nissan Magnite Achieves 5-Star GNCAP Safety Rating
Chennai: The New Nissan Magnite has secured a prestigious 5-star overall safety rating from the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP). This rating solidifies the compact SUV’s position as one of the safest vehicles in its class in India and South Africa.
Safety Features
The New Nissan Magnite boasts over 40 standard safety features, including:
- Six Airbags: Front, side, and curtain airbags to protect occupants in the event of a collision
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC): Helps the vehicle stay stable and on course
- Anti-lock Braking System (ABS): Prevents wheel lockup during hard braking
- Traction Control System (TCS): Regulates power delivery to the wheels for improved traction
- Hill Start Assist (HSA): Prevents the vehicle from rolling backward on inclines
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): Alerts the driver to underinflated tires
- Three-point Seatbelts: For all occupants, with seatbelt reminders
- ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts: For secure child seat installation
- Rear Parking Sensors: Alerts the driver to obstacles during reversing
Test Results
The GNCAP-tested right-hand drive variant of the New Magnite scored:
- 5 stars for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): With a score of 32.31 out of 34
- 3 stars for Child Occupant Protection (COP): With a score of 33.64 out of 49
