Suzuki Motor Corporation and Maruti Suzuki India Limited to Establish Osamu Suzuki Centre of Excellence
Chennai: Suzuki Motor Corporation and Maruti Suzuki India Limited have announced a proposal to establish the Osamu Suzuki Centre of Excellence (OSCOE) in India. The centre will be located in Gujarat and Haryana and aims to propagate Japanese manufacturing practices for high competitiveness.
The OSCOE will work towards:
- Supporting national objectives of high manufacturing growth
- Raising the standard of component manufacturers to make supply chains globally competitive
- Building infrastructure and developing programs to propagate Japanese manufacturing philosophy
- Collaborating with academia and others to promote formal teaching, lectures, discussions, and seminars
The centre will not only focus on the automotive sector but also extend its efforts to other areas of manufacturing, contributing to India’s growth and development. The initiative is a tribute to the legendary leader Late Mr. Osamu Suzuki, who introduced Japanese manufacturing concepts to India, leading to high competitiveness and inclusive growth.
