Rotary Olympiad 2025 Concludes with Resounding Success in Chennai
Chennai: The Rotary Olympiad 2025, hosted by Rotary International District 3234, has concluded with remarkable success at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. Over 1,500 students from more than 70 schools participated in the day-long sporting event, celebrating athleticism, discipline, and youth empowerment.
The event was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Karanbir Singh Brar, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area, who inspired young athletes with a message on leadership, fitness, and determination. An impressive march past by NCC cadets, school bands, and students marked the beginning of the Olympiad, filling the stadium with energy and excitement.
Throughout the day, students actively participated in various track and field events, team sports, and fitness challenges, showcasing their talent and sportsmanship. The initiative by Rotary aimed to foster camaraderie, discipline, and physical well-being among school children while offering them a rare opportunity to compete in a professionally managed environment.
AKS Rtn. Vinod Saraoji, Governor, Rotary District 3234, emphasized the significance of the Olympiad, saying, “The Rotary Olympiad is not just about winning medals; it’s about building confidence, character, and community. Through sports, we empower our youth and shape the future of society.”
The Valedictory Ceremony was presided over by Dr. R.G. Anand, esteemed educationist and youth mentor, who distributed prizes and certificates to the winners and applauded the efforts of all participants. The winners of the Rotary Olympiad 2025 were announced at the culmination of the event, with Velammal Vidyalaya, Alapakkam emerging as the Overall Champion in the Boys’ category and Omega International School emerging as the Overall Champion in the Girls’ category.
The success of the Olympiad was made possible through the enthusiastic participation of students, dedicated volunteers, and the unwavering support of schools and parents.
