Sangita Jindal Honored with French Distinction

National: Sangita Jindal, Chairperson of the JSW Foundation, has been conferred with the prestigious Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) award by the French government. The award recognizes her exceptional contribution to arts, culture, and heritage conservation in India and her dedication to fostering Indo-French cultural ties.

A Commitment to Cultural Exchange

As head of the JSW Foundation, Sangita Jindal has placed culture at the heart of her mission, forging dynamic partnerships with France. She has created meaningful spaces for exchange between Indian and French creators through artist residencies at Hampi Art Labs. Her collaborations with France include highlighting the dialogue between art and sport during the Paris Olympic Games in 2024 and participating in the exhibition “Textile Matters” at the Mobilier National in Paris.

A Tribute to Cultural Bridges

Ambassador Thierry Mathou praised Sangita Jindal’s passion, vision, and generosity, which have enriched the cultural landscape of India and brought the two countries closer together. Sangita Jindal accepted the award as a tribute to the many artists, craftspeople, conservators, and institutions she has worked with, reaffirming her commitment to safeguarding India’s heritage and fostering cultural bridges between nations.
