SIMS Hospital Launches India’s First 24×7 Digital Medical Bus for Rural Communities

Chennai: SIMS Hospital has launched SIMS Hello Doctor – Health on Wheels, India’s first 24×7 digital medical bus aimed at delivering comprehensive healthcare services to rural and underserved communities.

The medical bus was flagged off by Ma. Subramanian, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, in the presence of Tamilachi Thangapandiyan, MP, South Chennai, A.M.V. Prabhakara Raja, MLA, Virugambakkam, and Dr. Ravi Pachamuthu, Chairman, SRM Group.

The fully digital, paperless mobile unit offers on-the-go consultations, diagnostics, vaccinations, preventive health check-ups, and real-time teleconsultations with specialists, reducing travel and waiting time for patients.

Focused on preventive healthcare, the initiative supports early detection of non-communicable diseases and will conduct health screenings across villages, schools, colleges, and workplaces. An AI-powered chatbot enhances patient engagement, while services are available under Mission SIMS VILLAGE through the helpline 044 2001 2001.

Speaking at the launch, the Health Minister said the initiative strengthens healthcare access by bringing medical services closer to communities. Dr. Ravi Pachamuthu added that the programme reflects SIMS Hospital’s commitment to technology-driven, inclusive healthcare beyond hospital walls.
