SPIN Chennai Celebrates 30 Years of Excellence with Premier AI Conference
Chennai: SPIN Chennai, affiliated with Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute, marked a major milestone with its 30th anniversary celebration. The occasion was commemorated with SPICON 2025, a conference focused on “Spinning Gen AI” at Hotel Hablis, Guindy, Chennai.
The conference featured an inaugural keynote address by Dr. Srikanth Sundararajan, General Partner at Ventureast and Advisor to T-Hub, Hyderabad. Dr. Sundararajan highlighted the potential of AI in software productivity and product strategy. Industry experts also participated in panel discussions, exploring various aspects of Gen AI, including its applications in core industries, service industries, and AI management systems.
A significant announcement was made during the conference with the launch of the Deep Tech Forum, a Special Interest Group catering to India’s 30,000 Deep Tech companies. Additionally, “Flip the Story,” a book authored by Saloni Malhotra and Astha Ahluwalia, was launched, focusing on changing narratives and transforming lives in the digital era.
Dr. Rajaram Venkataraman, President of SPIN Chennai, emphasized the importance of trends like AI, Gen AI, and Deep Tech for the current decade. Other experts, including Madhan Karthikeyan Anbalagan and Dr. LN Rajaram, shared their insights on autonomous agents, AI’s role in legacy software, and the potential of video analytics and phygital technologies. The conference saw participation from over 200 delegates from various industries, including board members, CEOs, and industry consultants.
