Srila Chatterjee Curates Affordable Art Show in Chennai
Chennai: Renowned art curator Srila Chatterjee is set to bring an affordable art showcase to the city from March 6 to 8 at The Folly at the Amethyst. The exhibition will be open to visitors daily from 11 am to 7 pm.
The three-day pop-up will feature original, certified artworks priced from ₹3,000 onwards, aiming to make art collecting accessible to a wider audience. The showcase will bring together a diverse range of artistic traditions and contemporary expressions from across India.
Art forms on display will include Thangka from Leh, Pichwai from Rajasthan, Pattachitra from Bengal, Gond art from Central India, Ajrakh from Gujarat, and Sohrai, alongside hand-pulled limited edition prints, watercolours, contemporary canvases and curated art objects.
The exhibition will feature works by noted artists such as Venkat Raman Singh Shyam and Jogen Chowdhury, along with contemporary voices including Ruchi Bakshi Sharma, Zainab Tambawalla and Tushar Tanwar.
Organisers said the show is built around the belief that living with art should be inclusive and unintimidating. By offering thoughtfully priced, certified original works, the exhibition seeks to encourage both first-time buyers and seasoned collectors to explore and engage with Indian art.
The event is expected to draw art enthusiasts, collectors and design lovers from across the city.
