SRMIST Hosts Grand Induction Ceremony for Future Changemakers
Chennai: SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) recently hosted a grand Induction Ceremony for its incoming batch of students enrolled in B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Des, and M.Tech (Integrated) programs under the Faculty of Engineering & Technology for the academic year 2025-2026. The ceremony took place in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu, and was attended by esteemed faculty members and students.
Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, Founder Chancellor, delivered the Presidential Address, emphasizing the transformative power of education at SRM. “Education isn’t just about sitting in a classroom, it’s about transformation,” he said, encouraging students to make the most of their time at SRM. He also reminded students that their hard work and dedication would shape their futures, saying, “We provide the environment, faculty, and opportunities. The rest is in your hands. Be serious, work hard, and trust that your future will exceed expectations”.
The highlight of the event was the Special Address by Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai, Padma Bhushan Awardee and renowned as the Father of BrahMos. Dr. Pillai inspired students to dream big and strive for excellence, stating, “History proves that those who dare to imagine the impossible go on to break barriers in every field. We want every one of you to be part of that legacy. You must think high, have a great aim, acquire knowledge, work hard, and overcome every challenge”.
Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, welcomed the new students with a message focused on collaboration, connection, and growth. He emphasized the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and building lifelong connections with peers from diverse backgrounds. With over 2 lakh SRMIST alumni spread across the globe, students can leverage this vast network for support and guidance. SRMIST’s multicultural environment, academic rigor, and industry interface empower students to thrive on a global stage.
