Starbucks Expands Beverage Customisation in India With Zero-Sugar Flavour Options

Chennai: TATA Starbucks on Tuesday announced an expansion of beverage customisation across its India operations, allowing customers to choose their preferred level of sweetness across all espresso-based beverages. The move introduces zero-sugar flavour options including Vanilla, Hazelnut and Caramel, now available across all Starbucks stores, mobile ordering and delivery platforms in the country.

Customers can now personalise their beverages by selecting from No Sugar, Less Sweet or Regular sweetness levels, enabling lower-calorie choices without compromising on familiar flavour profiles. The enhanced customisation applies to both hot and iced beverages.

Commenting on the development, Sushant Dash, CEO, Tata Starbucks, said consumer expectations around personalisation have evolved alongside India’s growing coffee culture.

“Sweetness is a key part of beverage choice, and this enhancement gives customers greater control over how their drinks are crafted without altering the flavours they enjoy. It preserves the Starbucks experience while offering flexibility at the point of order,” Dash said.

He added that the initiative also supports operational consistency across stores and channels while enabling the brand to cater to a wider range of preferences at scale.

The announcement comes amid rising consumer focus on health and wellness, with more customers paying closer attention to ingredient transparency and calorie intake while still seeking indulgent experiences. This trend is particularly pronounced at the start of the year, when consumers reassess everyday habits and consumption choices.

With the expanded customisation offering, Starbucks aims to balance flavour, flexibility and consistency, while responding to evolving lifestyle preferences.

The updated beverage customisation options are now available across 506 Starbucks stores in 81 cities across India.
