STEM+ Centre “ESTEEM” Launched in Chennai with Focus on Environment and Electronics

Chennai: The city witnessed the launch of “ESTEEM – Beyond Basic Education,” a pioneering initiative that expands the traditional STEM framework by integrating Environment and Electronics into its curriculum. The centre was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Dr. Kalanidhi Veeraswamy, who formally opened the facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and traditional lamp lighting, followed by a walkthrough of the experiential learning spaces.

Located at 68, Taylors Road, Kilpauk, ESTEEM aims to redefine early education by offering hands-on modules in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Environment, and Electronics. The centre welcomed parents and children for an open house starting at 12:00 noon.

Designed for children aged 4 and above, ESTEEM’s programmes blend technical and soft skills through real-world applications, expert mentorship, and interactive projects. Highlights include:

  • Eco & Sustainability Projects: Waste management innovation and green tech.
  • Science Exploration: Lab experiments and space-themed learning.
  • Technology & Coding: Robotics, IoT, app development, and digital problem-solving.
  • Electronics & Engineering: Circuit design, prototyping, and sensor-based systems.
  • Mathematical Thinking: Logic games, data interpretation, and mental math.
  • Media & Communication: Podcasting, YouTube production, and storytelling.

Children below 4 years are engaged through play-based activities including sports, climbing, and nature interaction. The centre also offers customized modules for children with special needs, tailored to individual schedules.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Veeraswamy praised the initiative for its forward-thinking approach to education and its commitment to nurturing future-ready learners.

Parents and children are invited to visit the centre and explore ESTEEM’s immersive learning environment, which promises to foster curiosity, creativity, and research-driven problem-solving from an early age.
