SWITCH Mobility and Magenta Mobility partner to deploy eLCVs for Mid-mile and Last-mile delivery across India

Bengaluru, 7th May 2024: SWITCH Mobility, a global manufacturer of electric buses and light commercial vehicles from the Hinduja Group, and Magenta Mobility, an integrated electric mobility solutions provider, announce a strategic partnership by signing an MoU to procure 500 SWITCH IeV4. The collaboration marks a significant milestone in the journey towards sustainable transportation, underscoring the shared commitment of both organizations to advance the adoption of electric vehicles. This partnership solidifies with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), outlining the procurement of 500 units of SWITCH IeV4 electric vehicles.

This announcement was celebrated with the key handover and vehicle flag-off by Mr. Mahesh Babu, CEO of SWITCH Mobility, and, Mr. Maxson Lewis, Founder & CEO of Magenta Mobility, in the presence of multiple clients, further emphasizing the collective dedication to revolutionize the electric mobility landscape.

With this partnership, Magenta Mobility seeks to harness SWITCH Mobility’s proficiency in commercial electric vehicles to enhance its last-mile and mid-mile intra-city operations for clients throughout India. By seamlessly integrating SWITCH Mobility’s cutting-edge electric vehicle technology with Magenta Mobility’s comprehensive and innovative service portfolio of Logistics, Charging and Technology, this collaboration is poised to set new pioneering standards within the EV logistics and transportation sector as a whole.

The SWITCH IeV 4 is an intelligent electric light commercial vehicle (eLCV) with a 32.2 kWh battery and a 1700 kg payload capacity. It offers a spacious cargo area and delivers a 120 km range for safe, comfortable and efficient operations. Its 60 kW motor and 230 Nm torque provide strong performance. The SWITCH iON system – a proprietary, connected technology telematics solution helps businesses achieve smarter and more cost-effective fleet operations. These specifications align with Magenta Mobility’s growth plans for FY 24-25 to strengthen the eLCV segment. This collaboration also marks a crucial step towards Magenta Mobility’s ambitious goal of ‘Ab Ki Baar Dus Hazaar’ program, aiming to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles by September 2025.
