Taj Wellington Mews Hosts Thai Culinary Showcase at Match Point

Chennai: Taj Wellington Mews, Chennai is set to host a week-long Thai culinary celebration at its all-day dining restaurant, Match Point, from September 18 to 24. The event brings the vibrant flavours of Thailand to the city, offering an à la carte menu curated by Chef Lily from Banyan Tree, Taj Holiday Village, Goa, in collaboration with Executive Chef Saba Yusuf and the culinary team at Taj Wellington Mews.

The menu features a rich selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, beginning with amuse bouches like Meing Kuay Teow—rice noodles wrapped in iceberg lettuce with peanut chili sauce—and Khao Tod Gai, crispy rice balls filled with minced chicken. Soups include the vegetarian Tom Soup Hed and the chicken-based Tom Soup Gai, both infused with galangal, lemongrass, and chili.

Starters showcase Thai vibrancy with dishes such as Toho Foo Yum Mamueng (crispy tofu with mango salad), Tod Mun Pla (fish cake with cucumber and sweet chili peanut sauce), and Gai Foo Yum Ma Mueng (crispy chicken with mango salad). Mains include vegetarian options like Phad Phark Boong Fai Dang and Gaeng Kiew Wan Phark, alongside non-vegetarian highlights such as Sikhrong Kea Phad Prik—lamb chops with green peppercorns—and Rad Na Me Groub Goong, crispy noodles with prawns and vegetables. Each dish is served with Khao Hom Mali, steamed jasmine rice.

For dessert, traditional Thai sweets like Pheuak Kaew Tum Tim Nam Kati, taro water chestnut rubies in coconut milk, and Muah Chee, mochi dumplings filled with sesame and peanuts.
