The Good Rice Alliance Receives Top Quartile Ex Ante Rating

Chennai: The Good Rice Alliance (TGRA), a partnership focused on advancing sustainable rice farming in India, has received an ‘Ae’ ex ante rating from BeZero Carbon, a leading independent carbon ratings agency. The rating reflects the project’s high standalone carbon rating and very high likelihood of successful project execution.

Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions

TGRA, a collaboration between Bayer, GenZero, and Shell Energy India Private Limited, aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through sustainable agricultural practices. The partnership works with smallholder farmers in India to generate high-integrity carbon credits.

A Commitment to Sustainability

The ‘Ae’ rating confirms a high likelihood that each TGRA credit will deliver one ton of CO2e avoidance. Suhas Joshi, India Carbon Initiative Lead at Bayer, emphasized the collective commitment to establishing a nature-based carbon market quality benchmark and generating high-integrity carbon credits.
