Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery and Rotary club of madras central along with Madha Arts and Science College Join Hands for a Greener Future by planting 10,000 saplings; Created World Record Attempt
Chennai: Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery and Rotary Club of Madras Central along with Madha Arts and Science College, Tharapakam organised a massive tree plantation drive by planting 10,000 saplings within the campus and created a World Record Attempt, today. The event, themed “Magizhankaadu – Mannin Marangal” aimed to promote urban forestry and the “Go Green” mission and to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
The event was graced by Chief Guests, Rtn PDG Kalaimamani Abirami Ramanathan, Rotary Club of Madras Central, Kalvi Vendhar Lion Dr S. Peter, Founder & Chairman, Madha Group of Institutions, Deepak Srivastva, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Wetland Authority and Members of Rotary clubs across Chennai and Balachander D, President, Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery.
Across the campus 10,000 tree saplings were planted, symbolizing a commitment to environmental conservation. More than 500 enthusiastic students actively participated in the plantation drive.
Rtn PDG Kalaimamani Abirami Ramanathan, Rotary Club of Madras Central said, “Every sapling we plant today stands as a beacon of hope for the future. Each sapling we planted today is a step toward cleaner air, better climate, and a healthier environment for generations to come. With this initiative and I urge everyone to contribute to a greener future.”
Lion Dr S. Peter, Founder & Chairman, Madha Group of Institutions said, “Today we have planted 10,000 samplings symbolizes our commitment to nurturing nature and creating a greener, healthier world. Highlighting the day’s activities, all participating students were given certificates of participation as a token of appreciation for their contribution. This collaborative initiative underscores the importance of urban forestry in enhancing environmental sustainability and fostering community awareness for a greener tomorrow.
