Tsugami Opens World-Class Assembly Plant & Foundry in Chennai

Chennai: Tsugami, the global precision engineering leader, has inaugurated its new assembly plant and foundry at Oragadam, Chennai, marking a major boost to India’s high-precision manufacturing ecosystem.

The 15-acre facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park features an annual assembly capacity of 3,000 machines and a foundry capacity of 6,000 tons. With 300,000 sq. ft. of infrastructure, it will employ over 1,000 professionals.

At the inauguration, Kaoru Shiraishi, Director General, JETRO, said the plant reflects the strength of Indo-Japanese collaboration, combining Japanese technology with Indian talent. Arun Roy, IAS, Secretary – Industries, Tamil Nadu, called it a reaffirmation of Japan’s confidence in the state’s skilled workforce and business-friendly environment.

Balasubramanian, Founder of Tsugami India and CMD of Proteck Machinery, said the facility will accelerate India’s precision engineering capabilities and create a ripple effect across the manufacturing ecosystem.

    The plant enables end-to-end indigenous production of Tsugami machine tools, scaling up output while maintaining the company’s globally renowned quality standards.
