UK Tech Sector Welcomes Indian Entrepreneurs with Visa Options

The UK is inviting Indian tech entrepreneurs to explore opportunities in the British technology sector, with record numbers of Indian entrepreneurs taking advantage of the UK’s welcoming immigration landscape. According to A Y & J Solicitors, a top immigration law firm based in London, nine Indian firms have established operations in London in the first two months of the financial year, following 23 in 2024 and 31 in 2023.

Visa Options for Indian Entrepreneurs

  • Global Talent Visa: Allows Indian nationals to work in the UK without a sponsor if they receive an endorsement as a leader or potential leader in digital technology, including fintech, gaming, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
  • Innovator Founder Visa: Supports entrepreneurs looking to set up and run an innovative business in the UK, requiring an endorsement from a registered endorsing organization.
  • Skilled Worker Visa: Covers a broad range of IT and digital professions, with recent rule changes including increased salary and skills thresholds.

Growing Investment from India

India has been London’s top source of foreign investment for three consecutive years, with entrepreneurs from tier-two cities like Coimbatore, Kochi, and Chandigarh increasingly choosing to invest in the UK capital. Yash Dubal, Director of A Y & J Solicitors, notes that the traditional business ties between the UK and India are strengthening, particularly in light of recent trade agreements and global developments.

Opportunities for Indian Tech Professionals

The UK remains open to investors and skilled workers, especially in technology and IT, where talent shortages persist. Despite recent rule changes, many roles in the tech sector still meet the new criteria due to high salaries. This makes the UK an attractive destination for Indian tech professionals looking to explore new opportunities.
