UST Wins Dual Honours at Indian CSR Awards 2025 for Water Conservation and Disability Inclusion

Mumbai: UST, a global leader in AI and digital transformation solutions, has been honored with two prestigious accolades at the Indian CSR Awards 2025. The company received recognition for the ‘Most Impactful Save Water Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Education, Health & Livelihood Initiatives for People with Disabilities (PWDs)’, marking its fourth consecutive win at the national CSR platform.

The awards underscore UST’s sustained commitment to community-led, sustainable development through its flagship mission of Transforming Lives. Since 1999, the company has implemented 127 projects across nine states, positively impacting over one lakh individuals.

Championing Water Conservation Across South India

In 2024–25, UST partnered with the Environmentalist Foundation of India to rejuvenate Hettanahalli Lake in Karnataka and Karanaithangal Lake in Tamil Nadu, restoring 60 acres and conserving an estimated 170 billion gallons of water. Other initiatives include Project Paryavarna, which restored eight wildlife water troughs in Coimbatore, and multiple watershed programs across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. These efforts form part of UST’s broader environmental portfolio, which also includes tree plantation, coastal conservation, and forest restoration.

Empowering Persons with Disabilities Through Inclusion

UST was also recognized for its impactful work in disability inclusion. Key initiatives include:

  • SkillSync: A vocational training program for children on the autism spectrum
  • UST-V Able Scholarship: Supporting 167 students with disabilities across six states
  • Infrastructure upgrades: Enhancing accessibility at special schools for nearly 170 students
  • Assistive mobility support: Providing wheelchairs, transfer hoists, and visual-aid tools

These programs are implemented in collaboration with non-profit partners such as Vidhyadhan, Academy for Severe Handicaps and Autism, RampMyCity Foundation, and Neomotion.

“The recognition at the Indian CSR Awards is a tribute to our volunteers, partners, and communities who drive our impact,” said Smita Sharma, Global Program Manager – CSR, UST. “From restoring lakes to empowering people with disabilities, each initiative reflects our belief in co-creating a sustainable future.”

UST’s continued recognition at the Indian CSR Awards reaffirms its role as a catalyst for inclusive growth and environmental stewardship in India.
